Here's my entry to the MiniWarGaming's Warhammer Fantasy
Painting Contest. This is for Category #1 - Fantasy Single
Pic #1 - Unboxing of model
Pic #2 - Model pieces partly assembled and primed. I primed fully with Duplicolor Sandable Black primer first. Then I do zenithal highlighting using Gamesworkshop's white primer. This helps simulate a overhead light source and is useful for doing highlights later.
Pic #3 - Juggernaut shadow/highlights/base finished. The Khorne Lord has been based in this pic.
Pic #4 - Detailing finished on Khorne Lord.
Pic #5 - Pic taken in my photo light box of complete model. I finished assembling it after painting was done and added some additional fine details such as chips and scratches on the juggernaut armor. This picture shows the wooden block base I used to mount the juggernaut on while painting so I'm not touching the model. After I finished painting the model, I primed the block black and used a chaos symbol found in the Chaos Knights sprue and glued that to the front and painted it. Since the block is almost exactly the same size as the gaming base for this model, it serves as a good display plinth for the mini.

Some additional Info:
- Base of model was done using two layers of corkboard and GW sand. Then for the snow I used a mixture of white paint/PVA glue/Createx Pearlized Paint (this gives the snow effect small amounts of shine which simulates light reflecting from the ice crystals). After the base snow was done, I did a final layer of watered down PVA glue and sprinkled Gale Force 9 snow basing material on top to simulate fresh snowfall.
- Blood on the axe was done using Tamiya Color Clear Red.
- Feel free to leave questions or comments. I'm also trying to finish up 5 chaos knights for the Fantasy Group entry and will post it if I finish in time.
