Howdy Mwg!

I thought that I might post my newly painted Tyranid army pics to see what you guys thought of them. Now, I haven't got a very big army but before I get started I thought that I should give you a list. This is currently what I have:

2 Tyranid Primes

3 Hive Guards

4 Tyranid Warriors

8 Genestealers

20 Devilgants

20 Hormagaunts

6 Ripper Swarms

6 Spore Mine Clusters

1 Biovore

1 Mycetic Spore (wip)


When deciding on what colors I wanted to paint them I ran across forum pages depicting a Tyranid army painted with the 'dipping" technique. I instantly knew that was what I wanted! I decided to make a splinter fleet of Hive Fleet Kraken. I used 4 different cheap colors for the base coat. I bought these at Wal-Mart.

The colors are:

Carapace and Talons: Cardinal Red
Skin: Vintage White
Gun: Sunny Yellow
Fleshy Bits: Perfect Purple

God willing, in the next month I'll be adding my first monstrous creature: the Tyranid Prime! I'm really looking forward to painting this guy! I'll be going about painting one piece at a time before assembling the model.

The Dipping technique maybe easier than traditional painting but it is very unforgiving to mistakes; which I made a lot of. If you'd like some advice on dipping then just send me a message. Who knows, if I get enough messages I might write a How To for my channel?


*oops! I forgot to mention that I'll be flocking all the bases (which belong to us) as soon as MWG Dave starts his Blood Angels vids again! I would have never been able to grind through those hours without hearing Dave ramble! lolol
