The Elf-lord Glorfindel is one of the most powerful of all the Eldar of Middle-earth, counted great among the Wise.
Although I've really been trying out Non Metallic Metal techniques of late, I decided to follow the exact guide presented in the Fall of the Necromancer sourcebook. I'm not sure how much I like the armor, but I suppose it's functional.
What I'm most proud of are the Sindarin runes that I painted at the base of the figure's cloak.
The runes say: O Elbereth Githoniel, which is a lay written for the Valar Elbereth the Starkindler.
Cloak
For the basecoat I used Astronomicon Grey. The shadows were were created by using successive darkening of Astronomicon Grey with Shadow Grey. The high lights were achieved using Space Wolves Grey, and then Skull White.

Armor
I used Burnished Gold as the basecoat, mixed with a bit of Goblin Green to give it the look that was achieved in the Lord of the Rings films. Highlights were achieved my mixing Mithril Silver with Shining Gold. I applied several different washes to the armor to achieve depth and a certain tint.

Chainmail
The chainmail was painted with Chainmail, then a wash of Asurmen Blue was given. Badab Black was used to wash the deeper recess, then a Mitrhil Silver was drybrushed over the washes.
