ruined stone buildings

Some ruined structures for middle earth.

Made some stone walls using modeling clay, each stone molded using my fingers to press the rectangle shape from a small ball of clay. Built up corners and walls in this fashion, used PVA to attach them to a cardboard base. Gave the structures a layer of PVA for a little more security. Used sand and small stones to texture the base.

Painted the base using Arcylic paints (Raw Umber) and highlighted a little adding white to the base color. The stones where painted using acrylics also, mixing black and white. Base coat on the stones was a dark grey, i added white to the mix and dry brushed the structure. I added more black to the mix and made a wash which was applied to the bottom of the stones and any major depressions.

Added some pebbles and flock which was then coated lightly in places with static grass. Also placed a few twigs here and there to suggest these structures haven't been used in ages. The white long grass has since been painted.
