Making Barbed wire has many advantages for both your games and just for overall look. This article will show you how to make a cheap way to make it.
MATERIALS
-exacto knife
-straight edge ruler
-some electrical wire
-foamboard
-scissors
-thick card
-pva glue
-paints:Codex Grey, Fortress Grey,Scorched Brown,Bestial Brown,and Vermin Brown
First cut about a 6 1/2 inch length of the wire. Then grab your hobby knife and start the peel off the insulation.
After revealing the brass wire, pull out 3 pieces.
Begin to loosely twist the wire. Then make small knots at 1 inche intervals.
Pull out one of the three wires and cut about a 1/2 cm from the knot, do this on both sides. Continue to cut on each side of the knots.
You have now finished the barbed wire, its best to repeat this process twice or even three times.
Now on to the posts. These are just simple strips of foamboard. Cut three pieces and wrap the barbed wire around them. After wrapping, glue them together for extra strength.
I then glued the posts and wire on a card base, about 6 inches long and 1 inch wide. For painting I basecoated with chaos black, then for the poles I painted scorched brown, then drybrushed with bestial brown, and finally highlated with vermin brown. The base is just codex grey.
