Grey Knight base finished

I'm working on getting some matte varnish for you guys, then I'll respray all my stuff, so bear with me for a few days while i locate and acquire. finished up the Grey Knight's base this morning. Any modelling advice? i don't use grass cause I only play on urban boards. any advice besides buying scenic bases? lol. I usually just glue sand to my bases and paint them straight grey, but yesterday you guys told me i should do some more too it, and i was thinkin on it anyways so here ya go!

tight but it might be cooler if you add adead demon on the base.

well painted mini, but the base; even tough its a city fight base, u should paint the rim of the base graveyard earth, to much grey on it like puredeath said, too much gray on that base, it takes away from your nicely painted figurine.

Awesome base Dingholio!! Mi likey very much! What could use improving? Kiwook1993 did mention for you to use grass flock on your base. It would look very nice, but not necessary. I have many themed battle fields that have no grass. Think of it as an utterly destroyed/bombed field, were grass is no more. So either way works. Second suggestion....too much gray on that base, it takes away from your nicely painted figurine. I would probably use the *dry brush* technique with some "Scorched Brown" (Gameworkshop) paint. Make it look more like dirt. You will see how much more it will stand out with your model. Keep up the great work!!

he looks pretty decent to me.
for your base, i think it would be great if you add very small amount of grass flock in between the gaps of the rocks..
check out my venerable dreadnought's base in the product picture of miniwargaming store..
even though you play on urban board, there must be some grass growing on it.
If you don't like adding grass flock, just don't do it.
He still looks great without it..
