These pillars are made from wine corks painted and glued to cardboard bases which where textured with sand flock and static grass. The stones where painted dark grey, dry brushed light grey and then a dark grey almost black wash before finishing with a light dry brush of white. vertical streaks where painted on some of the double pillars using a green wash to suggest moss and stuff growing in the damp cracks. a little flock and static grass was also added to the joins between one pillar and another to show some age where seeds have taken root.

I should explain how the miniatures where painted but i was taking little note of it, if you want to see them in their green stuff stages check out the 'LOTR SBG Conversions And Ent Sculpt' article. I don't really do how-to's so if theres any questions please ask. I wasn't really pushed on going beyond my own skills here so I kept the colors real simple and stuck with a very dull and muted scheme, scorched brown was used a lot and mid tones are more like highlights.
thanks for checking it out.

some Moria goblin conversions on the way....
