Hi Matt, i have a possible suggestion for the sniper. Since they tend to be Loners, it would be cool to have them not beable to benefit from the commanders leadership or command points, however he should come with more command points as standard, but has a much slower command point regeneration (1 per turn). The idea is, he becomes more independent being able to do more without having to be with the commander, but at the same time he doesnt gain the benefits of regular troops. Its more how i picture a sniper than anything else, but it could be an interesting concept.

In fact, the same thing could be done for the assassin, since he of course would also be a loner on the battlefield. Just a thought, love watching these play testing sessions.

Maybe add a level two stealth to the sniper. Once he gets into positions he can activate it. Two bases can be placed and move to get into position. A sniper is normally unseen until his first shot. In order to reenter stealth the sniper must move away from his spot.

What'd about introducing a penalty for move and fire? Shouldn't the soldiers taking time to point on their target shoot more precisely?

@MiniWarGaming: Kinda like Blood Bowl. I would almost be so bold to tell you to take a peek at the rules for blood bowl, regarding the mechanics for rerolls and such. They have a rule called Loner, and it makes the player less likely to benefit from team rerolls. So Azeebo's idea is similar to this.

The only problem, is that there are starting to be sooo many special rules for both the sniper and the sniper rifle. And it seems almost every solo except commanders and sub-commanders would end up having this rule. I would not like that if it were so. These are still soldiers that listen to their commander after all.

@Azeebo: I like that rule actually. I'll call it the "Loner" special rule.

You can expect that in 0.1.6.
