Matt you really need to go with at least 2 Tyrant Guard with your Swarmlord. The effect to keep it alive is so worth it. If the 2 tyrant guard are in cover you would be receiving the defence of the cover and getting Feel No Pain from Tervigon would allow you to carve through the ranks of terminators, please try it!

@MrVacuum: Now to add another layer of fun. The demolisher cannon is an ordinance barrage weapon. However, the owning player can choose to fire it as a regular ordinance weapon if the Vindicator moved. If he doesn't move, it can be ordinance barrage.

Are you sure you're not thinking of Ordnance Barrage weapons ? Those do have a 'stationary vehicle' requirement.

Agreeing with kibatomu, you pretty much have to give the Swarmlord some Tyrant Guard if you want him to survive.

Because he's so slow, he usually needs the extra wounds to make it to the enemy. Their scything Talons and Rending Claws usually add a little extra damage, and if you give them Lash Whips, it makes the Swarmlord's job even easier.

the Lord needs guards. The guards can get cover and take 2-6 wounds keeping the lord alive longer

Hey Matt, i know what you mean about rolling doubles when spawning termagants. i always bring two tervigons myself. The other week i actually had a game where i brought 2 of them and didn't role doubles the entire game and ended up spawning little over 80 termagants for the entire game! my opponent felt a little cheated of course but it's cool because we're friends.
