Dave, you said you removed one guy from the assault marine squad but you failed one regular wound and took a power weapon. And as mentioned before it looks like the daemons didn't make their attacks. Good battle report so far!

I'm not certain If I saw it right,but if you DID allocate the close combat wounds on astorath from attacks not clearly targetting him you did wrong,Independant characters are separate units in close combat and must be targetted separately

Dave you CAN'T allocate wounds to Astorath/Priest/IC, He was attacking your Unit, so you can only distribute those wounds on the unit your enemy squad is attacking.

Remember Allocating wounds on assault works different than in the Shooting phase when an IC is part of a unit.

One thing for Dave. You said you targeted the Daemon Prince because you could see his turbines/jetpack/whatever. Those were "counts as" wings, which are never a viable target, right?

Did Astorath attack back when it was the assault marines turn to attack? i saw rolls and mentions for everybody else but i didnt hear Dave mention any attacks from Astorath or see any rolls

Dave with the Assault Marines you did the allocation wrong as others have explained. But also there were two power weapon wounds which you put 1 on Astorath and 1 on a regular guy. You did not remove the rugular guy. So you lost a wound on astorath and 2 guys not 1. And if you only had 1 regular guy then he would have been taking 3 wounds which is not allowed as he was already taking 2.

Hey Jameswearden, is he allowed to multi assault after he wrecks the vehicle though? I mean say there were two units side by side of chaos space marines, he guns down 1 unit of chaos space marines completely , therefore leaving no unit left to assault as a primary (the targeting unit from the shooting phase), so denying the multi assault ability, which is a similar situation to the vehicle getting wrecked from melta thus denying him the multi assault to the CSM... I could be entirely wrong about that thought

In close combat, when an independent character is joined to a squad, you must choose which to attack, the character or the squad. Therefor Astorath couldn't have taken a power weapon wound.
Also Dave, if you look in the rulebook at the multi-assault section it says that you can shoot at a unit and then multi-assault, so you could have assaulted the CSM
