@Boofus, that rhino staggering is an awesome idea, never thought of that. thanks for the helpful tip

oh and also, GW has simplified cover saves greatly in 5th edition and almost everything gives 4+ cover saves now. About the only thing that gives 5 is tall grass and crater's. the only thing that gives 3 is being stationed inside a bunker or heavily fortified artilley position.

@the40kguys
He woulnt get a cover save from an ordanence blast since thats determined from the center of the blast marker (not the direction the shot is coming from)
Todda (Over a year ago):
One thing that most people do not realize is that Obscured vehicles get cover saves based on the type of cover they have. A hedge line might be a 5+, a stone wall might be a 4 , and a vehicle bunker might be a 3 . Hiding a vehicle behind troops is not an easy thing as 50% must be covered. They need to be packed together in layers and likely would only count as a 5 save.

what save is it? 4+ or 5 ? cos me and my mate were talking, he reckons his Shadowsword got a cover save from my Deff Kannon (S10, AP1, Large Blast) but i didnt reckon so, cos its a large blast, also, if i did shoot wit like a s9 or 10, wat cover save is it?

rhino staggering is one of my farvorite tactics to use to advance the field. typically, you would have one rhino move 12 inches forward and pop smoke, then have the second rhino move roughly 10-11 inches and fall behind the smoked rhino, thereby giving both rhinos cover in open terrain. on the next turn you would then take the rhino from behind and move it 12 forward and pop smoke, with the forward rhino going behind it. its maximizing the distance covered and keeping your troops safe for at least an extra turn. a question i had (being also and IG player), your Russ is behind cover as shown in the video, giving your main cannon full view, how would you consider the hull-mounted lascannon would be affected? obviously is looks like its behind cover so would you even be able to take the shot? or would you give them cover just on that gun? great vid btw 5/5
