Hi Kris, you seem to use dry palettes a lot, why do you prefer this over a wet palette?

Dear Kris,
Love these videos so thank you for doing them!
How would you go about painting Black Burnished Iron to a tabletop display standard. I'm aiming to do this for my High Elf Army and am really struggling to come up with a good recipe.
Many thanks!

Ho there Kris,

I have two questions for you:

1. What colors / techniques would you recommend for a really nice pus (I'm painting a nurgle scheme). I'd like a REAL pus look, something more yellow than green.

2. Same idea, but for CSM horns. I've done some on my army, but they,re very dark, should I use a ligter base? What colors for the higlights? Should I use a wash?

Dear kris,

Do you have any advice for blending blue power swords? I dearly want this effect on my most important minis (sword = badge of importantness) but while my overall painting skills are improving, I am lacking in the sword department because i'm afraid of doing a poor job. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. My emperor's champion ain't so champion-like with an unpainted poker.

for pearl, paint, plastkic pearl effect spray and gloss over.

Best to do it with the part not glued on though.

Done this on my airfix years ago, don't remember how good it was probably be to try it on a sprue first

Hello kris the almighty paint applier. I have a question concerning a new space marine chapter I am creating and its colour scheme. The main body color will be crimson, what paints and washes should I get for this Colour. I'm sorry if this question is very broad, I'm new to painting miniatures.

Hey Kris,

Is it good or bad to mix some varnish with your primer when airbrushing models? I find since the layer is so thin, it can easily be damaged. I'm wondering if mixing the varnish and primer would strengthen the base coat. I typically use the Vallejo poly-urethane primer. If it is ok to mix them, would you recommend mixing it with a matt, satin or gloss varnish?

I've been painting my Tau with black priming, but use light green, light blue, brown, biege, and a bit of black. People suggest to start using a white primer so the lighter colors look better. If I start using white primer on my next Tau models, do I have to/ should I reprime and paint the old models?
Crusherfex (Over a year ago): - delete
Kris, can you do an example of painting the horns? Your instructions made sense but I'm not sure if I'll do it correctly

Hey Kris
I am doing a Red Corsairs CSM army and I am a bit stuck on how to do they symbol. GW haven%u2019t done any transfer sheets or shoulder pads, so I am stuck doing them all in free hand painting. This is not impossible but it takes a lot of time. Do you have any ideas?

SO i have been trying to paint some flyers and tanks kinda like you would a car in real life. I put a coat of Gloss black then do some color modulation with metallic paint. It looks good at that point, then I put on the candy coat(Badger Freak Flex) and it comes out looking dull. Any ideas to make it look more like actual car paint? I am using all acrylic and don't really want to use solvent based paint because I won't really be able to work with it afterword.

It cannot be seen, cannot be felt,
Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt.
It lies behind stars and under hills,
And empty holes it fills.
It comes first and follows after,
Ends life, kills laughter.
