When Matthew moved the rhino he moved it closer to the objective (sneaky) so that might have made a win become a draw. You can only see this if you look closely.

in min 9 math pushes the rino a little bit nearer to the objectiv when he moved it so it has to be 3:3.....this is mordern tabeltop

Strategic redeployment... he could've parked the Winged Tyrant near another objective, say the one that the gargoyles were guarding instead of continuing to beat on the land raider, not sure how that would turn out though. Repositioning the gargoyles on the far end of the table nearer to that corner objective would've taken some of the chance out of contesting that objective. Not really much else to do from what I saw. Close, close game though. Well played too. Enjoyed it. I also really liked the modeling and paint on Greg's Salamanders. The rhinos looked great with the spikes and scales on them. Really creative with the head on the land raider too.

I have to question that ending.

1) You're assuming the warrior destorys the rhino. If he did not he would have had to backup 1 inch.

2) If he deploed then moved the rhino less than 6 inch, which could be barely a movement, then the Warrior would need 4's to hit. It was still 'winable' for the SM or a tie.

My prediction before the end:

Suddenly, Vulkan (the primarch) appears as a huge dragon and chomps the screamer-killer before breathing epic fire onto the two warriors. Salamanders win.

i had a close game it was 3v3 but they had a vital objective. that they were clever and didn't tell us. (which you can do)

@CaptainSlaughter: Not so. Unless the assaulted vehicle moves out of base contact then it is still 'locked in combat' as it says in the book and therefore can be attacked in the ensuing assault phase

Rules mistake: Matt's big gribbly would not have been able to hit the Land Raider, because there are no continued assaults vs. vehicles. I.E he can only attack in his turn, not in the Marine player's turn, therefore he would have had to spend his turn attacking it, potentially saving that tac squad

I think greg could have tied it so easily if he'd just got his marines out to surround the rhino. That way the nids couldn't get round it. All the same, great batrep.
