stronghold and nuclear waste

Stronghold

What you need: A cardboard box
scrap pieces of cardboard
Tape
Any type of brown paint
Paint colors of your chapter
Filler paint color
knife

What you need to do first is to cut a whole in the front big enough for the miniatures to fit in( I will never give you any exact measurements because boxes might be different sizes) Now take the piece you cut from the door and stick it back in the empty slot and tape it to one side, now it swings like a door. Now for the two ground firing holes, cut out a square shape big enough for the units that will be shooting from it. Do the same thing you did with the door, stick the piece you cut off into the empty slot and tape the top to the box. After that get a piece of the spare cardboard and tape it enough to where the piece for the window can fit under it, to hold the window slot up. Do the same for the top firing holes as well, but here is where the tricky part comes in. First cut a hole underneath the firing windows on the top(not right underneath about and inch below) then get another piece of cardboard and stick it in the hole underneath the window. Make sure that the cardboard is good and steady and won't fall out.Now what you do is paint the chapters symbol on the front and paint rest with filler paint. Drybrush the brown paint to give the stronghold a sandblasted look. Here is what it looks like all closed upAn Image Here is what it looks like open An Image

Nuclear waste facility

What you need: toilet paper rolls(2)
Green paint
Silver paint
Tape
Square piece of cardboard(2) one small and one big
Sharpie
Straw

What you do first is tape all of the toilet paper rolls and the small piece of cardboard to the big piece. You can either have a spill, which i did, or just a facility. If you are going with just a facility paint it silver color. If you are having a spill you can either paint it silver with green streaks on it or can not paint it at all and put green streaks on it, like I did. It will look like thisAn Image and An Image

Okay guys, everyone that said that this is bad got to me so, anyone who liked this and want more i am not making anymore. Thank all the people who criticize everything that isn't perfect for me not making anymore terrain
skyliner25 (Over a year ago):
Im not trying to put you down or anything, but that looks realy scrapy
SquirrelKiller65 (Over a year ago):
If you're on a budget and looking for some industrial-looking quick terrain pieces, try taking apart an old radio or TV or computer that's no good any more. You get loads of ultra-realistic parts that can be assembled easily into terrain, including plastic sides for buildings panels (cut carefully!)

What we all need to realize is that we don't know how old someone attempting something like this is. This may be a first attempt. I think it shows great creativity especially if you are on a budget.
I think what we should give is some cheap helpful hints as opposed to out and out brutal criticism.

Guys, the reasons I used cardboard are
1. playing with no terrain on a straight table is boring
2. only thing i could get my hands on at the moment
3. because i really don't care what all of you that are saying it looks like crap say so there you go.
Bloodtyrant (Over a year ago):
Cardboard should only be used as a framework. In all honesty your buildings LOOKS like cardboard, unless your army owns a box factory, plain cardboard isn't gonna cut it for realism in buildings (unless it is orks)
locbot (Over a year ago):
its better to use posterboard for the forstress as its sturdeer and is waterproof it makes the terrain able for wear and tear
kingluigi99 (Over a year ago):
i alwys use carboard its great you can make eany thing whith it. i like how you use what ever you can get your hands on . great tutorial i might make it myself.
weenie-lotr7 (Over a year ago):
u can use cardboard as long as it isnt flimsy and try not to get it to wet or it will warp to badly. also try painting buildings wit textured paints
baraka564 (Over a year ago):
only thing i had locbot
locbot (Over a year ago):
no effence but your stuff isnt really good enough for a tutorial u never use cardboard unlease ur making coragated metal
