How to Magnetize Warriors

Well I haven't been up to much these past few weeks but I got myself to start on my warriors so I thought I might as well show you guys how I magnetize them.

What you will need

Magnets
Green Stuff
Warriors
Modeling Knife

=======================
Step 1
=======================

Place magnets in the the arm sockets of the warriors, green stuff and super glue. Be sure to have the right polarity. (If you can't do that right then you fail).

I recommend that you either let this harden enough (3-4 hours?) so that it will not pull away if another magnet is near by.

====================
Step 2
====================

For non-gun arms
Cut off the ball part of the arms, you can cut at different angles to have various poses.

===================
Setp 3
===================

Mix some green stuff
And stick some on at the end

===============
Step 4
===============

Dab a bit of super glue where you are gonna place the magnet

=================
Step 5
=================

To make sure the polarity is right you have either marked the magnet or use the "Magnet rod" technique I used in my magnetizing a Carnifex tutorial.

==============
Step 6
==============

Smooth out the green stuff, make sure your fingers are wet when you are smoothing out. Yes this will be kinda messy, you are working with super glue, water and green stuff.

How well you smooth out the green stuff really depends how good you are with green stuff, as you can see I suck.

===========================
Magnetizing gun arms
===========================

==============
Step 1
==============

Get some gun arms

==============
Step 2
==============

Cut the ball joint off and put green stuff there

An Image

===============
Step 3
===============

Put magnets on where you want the guns on your warrior.

===============
Step 4
===============

Stick the gun arms on your warrior and just press it against the green stuff. DON'T bother to sculpt it out you just want the magnet's imprint on the green stuff.

=============
Step 5
=============

Connect the gun arms together.

**Optional**

To keep them from separating you can either super glue/green stuff the connection area, however they will be one piece. Not doing this will allow you to keep them separate but they will still "plug" together with magnetized.

============
Step 6
============

WAIT!
Wait like 6 hours or overnight for that stuff to harden and dry. Don't even think about playing with it to see "if it is dried", cuz if it starts to pull off your gonna be frustrated since you got green stuff and magnets and the gun arms starts to lean a bit and all this crap. Don't Touch it, balance it some how and go and do something else.

You should have 3 warrior bodies so you can do 3 gun arms at a time (I had 6 from previous magnetized warriors).
Gun arms on the top arm slots will not fit with gun arms with the bottom gun slots, be aware of that (Unless you kept the 2 pieces separate, I hadn't checked).

=============
Step 7
=============

Ok next morning.

============
Step 8
============

Now here are some potential problems that my occur

Green stuff comes off the arm
--------------------------------

Magnet comes off green stuff
-----------------------------

Well that doesn't matter now since the green stuff had hardened you can simply super glue the magnet or green stuff back, the green stuff is not soft anymore so there shouldn't be any problems.

===============
Step 9
===============

As you can see on the pictures above the green stuff is really messy.
Use your knife and cut off any weird bulges and what not. (The magnet may come lose and stick to your knife, you just super glue it back.

Once the bulges are taken care of get some green stuff and sculpt it over the magnet to make it look neat.

And you are now done!

Drooping, leaning same thing.
On step 6 I said "Wait! don't touch it" what I did was I had the guns point upwards while they lean on something so they don't fall over. You just have to do whatever it takes to stop them from moving and let it all dry. Push a bunch of paint pots surrounding the thing w/e.

what about drooping? did you have lots of problems with that?
Weeden-Project (Over a year ago):
looks good
crazywargamer567 (Over a year ago):
pretty cool
Bloodtyrant (Over a year ago):
Yeah, I admit the green stuff did not blend very convincingly and I kinda wasn't "doing my best job", but my I took my into account my colour scheme which is dark purple so yeah, it shouldn't stick out too badly
AlbertWoods (Over a year ago):
not your best artical because you can really see the green stuff and the magnet but you learn too sculpt it well . by the way you gave it genestealer arms!
Commander (Over a year ago):
nice tutorial andn dont worry i suck even more with green stuff i meen come on how do you sculpt with that crap?
flemming999 (Over a year ago):
sweet
Tyranric (Over a year ago):
