Ork in progress

I got an ork nob from a friend to make some color tests on it. It's gonna be a Goff nob, but there's still a lot of work to be done on him. So far the green skin and leather clothes are done, but I'll finish it soon.

An Image

Skin is painted in 5 layers of colors mixed from Knarloc green, Camo green and finally Camo green and Bleached Bone 2/1.

Eyes use Blood red as base, Blazing orange for the middle portion and Sunburst yellow for the dots.

Enjoy (tm)

great job. My ork skin is scorpion green washed in thraka green, for a lighter look, but my orks are also red armor so again, great job, looks amazing

I like the skin, It's quite dark, so there is almost no contrast. Mine are so out of the style now
Vaipa (Over a year ago):
I see what you're saying. An ork army however would not have 5 layers of paint on the skin of every ork because I'd go nuts

The color scheme is simple, first Knarloc green then Thraka green wash, Knarloc green again, 1/1 mix with camo green for 1st highlight, camo for 2nd highlight and finally camo + bleached bone for the very thin edges. I'm trying to do some deffkoptas and this method should suffice

An interesting way of doing the eyes, really makes them look very angry. However, I'd recommend using different colors for the skin instead of mixing up from a certain color. Otherwise, it becomes very hard to get an even color across an entire army (trust me, I tried to cheap out with my first tyranids...)
If this is merely a one-off piece (as it sounds), the method is fine.
Anyways, nice model, can't wait to see it done.
