I spray painted my models using a cheap spray paint and they came out really well! I painted one in chaos black to see the difference and the spray paint is much less glossy than chaos black paint. the spray i used is called "Quick color Fast drying all purpose spray enamel" and the color is 'Flat Black'

Actually the Tau Empire Battleforce has a Tau Crisis XV8 Battlesuit that can be used as an HQ choice.
I'm a Tau man myself (feel free to laugh, but when we get our new codex we'll see who will do the laughing... who's laughing now *cry*... who's laughing now!)
But yeah, love your show, love your site, best of luck to all of you.

Hey Dave,
I enjoyed the Vlog while having some days of from EMS-Duty, glueing together some of my Ultramarine Assault-Guys for my 4th Company. During the Video you came up with the ringing, annoying sound in you ears. Well, as far as I know, it is just that you hear the Blood going through your Ears, rushing along your hearing Organ, that one is so sensitive, that it can pick up the rush of blood going along the capillary arteriae and venae. It is the most boring thing I ever experienced, but it is absolutely normal, as long as you don't hear it all the time, even when it is loud.

Keep going, you and your colleagues really got me going when I started, and you still are a big thing, when it comes to inspiring me. Foa zee Emprah!

when I magnetize things, to check for polarity I always flip the checking magnet so if it's in the wrong way, it will jump onto the testing stack, but if it's in the right way, I'll feel the testing stack push away.

My friend and i decided to build armies in 40k and destroy each other on the field of honour. He chose chaos and I took the path of the imperial guard. Basically im taking an infantry heavy list (fluff reasons) with 2 40-50 man platoons with combined squads, sw heavy platoon command squads(grenade launcher or flamer),heavy weapon teams, and commisars. Lord Castellan Usarkar Creed will be leading my force providing crazy support to my whole army.A pair of outflanking sentinels, executioner russ and a vanilla russ to top it off. The best part about this army is that whenever i fail a first leadership test on one of my infantry squads i get to yell out "WE ARE THE IMPERIAL GUARD, ITS TIME WE STARTED ACTING LIKE IT", execute the squad leader(with the commisar) and take the test again(hopefully passing it)
GLORY TO THE IMPERIUM!

i have an idea for the ringing in the ears thing. our brains are addicted to their senses, and when they don't have anything to hear, they make their own noise. hence the ringing.

Hey Dave.
I am one of the rare female wargamers around. It's a real shame, that there aren't more of us. I can see why though. Playing with toysoldiers just isn't what most girls grow up with.
I kind of did, as I had almost as much "boy toys", as I had girlish ones. My mother was pretty open in that regard.

I also always loved miniature heavy boardgames as a child (and also painting the minis with those horrible revell paints). Like Hero Quest and Space Crusade, which were pretty much my door to 40k, back in 95.
And since then I play Orks. Because Orks are cute. And green. And fungi. Which makes for quite an awesome combination.

And in all those years, I never met one single other women, who also plays 40k.
Maybe 2-3 who played WHFB (All actually played Elves, I think), but as much as I like the fantasy minis, I could never really get into the system itself.

But I am rambling.
Your vlog is awesome. Normally I love listening to audiobooks, or radio while painting (ork Goff boyz in this case), but your blog makes for quite an attractive alternative.

(Sorry for spelling or grammar mistakes. Me is German.)

I Love fielding Dreds in my vanilla force becasue they are great distractions that pack a heavy punch. I have to face Nids all the time with my Marines and It is so easy to bate him into destroying them, while my other troops get set up to blast the hell out of him. Plus lets just be honest, the miniature is awesome looking, especially the death company Dreds, very fierce looking.
JynxBlack (9 months ago):
To be honest I haven't ever tried to use assault marines without jump packs but with the use of a Land Raider or a Storm Raven, even a Rhino could be deadly if used right...think I may have to try this with my vanilla army.

Hey Dave, watched your first two vlogs tonight while working on my Orks. I've really enjoyed it. It's like having a buddy to work on stuff with

One thing I wanted to comment on that I had heard you mention in these videos was how to go about starting armies. I believe at one point you suggested buying the battleforce, an hq, and a heavy support. That certainly gives you a good start to an army, but I have found with the battleforces I have bought over the years is that I often end up not using as much of it as I would like.

When a player is starting a new army, I think the best thing they can do is buy the codex and read it cover to cover a few times. After that, pick units and models you like, for whatever reason, and write lists that include them. Battleforces can be a good start, but just make sure you get your money's worth out of it.

How did you figure that out?!?! its on in the background!?!?

@Phenix Wolf Hello, I know you asked Dave but if you are willing i have my $.02 that i would like to add. While i do love zerkers ( I have more then 20) in a well rounded list running an army with all zerker troops may not be wise. I have two reasons for this.

1. Enemy Tanks. I feel it is important to have anti-tank in troops to keep them well rounded. Regular CSM squads, or Plague marines can carry meltas and such, making them much more adaptable. Plasma pistols won't really do much against armor.

2. Objective holding. Zerkers always want to be in combat, they love killing. You may want something to hold objectives ( PLague MARINES

Dave, when your army is ready the blood gods command you to slay Matt`s Tyranids.
Silent-Guardian (9 months ago):
i hear that ringing in my ears too and it either that im listening to sound from my head set to loud or that all the radio waves that are constantly flying around the world and going through our brains are causing this hardly audable ringing sound
