Mandalore30 (Over a year ago): Yesterday I held a game of Warhammer 40k. Eldar vs Tyranids I played As the Eldar and my Friends played as the Tyranids. It was very interesting as none of them has ever played before! and one of them has never heard of Warhammer or even Wargaming before!!!! I know its shocking but there is some people like that out there. I have a massive Wargaming table because my dads a massive wargamer and plays every Sunday with his friends and me. I filled the table with lots of difficult terrain and placed my Eldar hidden from view but in a defensive position to stop the oncoming hoard. Their army consisted of Tyranid Hive Tyrant, Tyranid Warrior Brood x 3, Tyranid Hormagaunt Brood x60, Tyranid Termagant Brood x30, Tyranid Genestealer Brood x10 and finally a Tyranid Carnifex. It was an Impressive force and I thought because they have never played before I wont use that many men. Oh I was wrong I had a 10 man squad of Guardians x3 one equipped with a support cannon, Striking Scorpions x12, seer council as HQ, war walker as heavy support, Jet bikes x4 for fast attack and later I brought in Eldar Phoenix Lord Maugan Ra, The Harvester of Souls because they wouldn't let me bring in any tanks, Shinning spears, Avatar, or Wraithguards or Wraithlords. Sigh* it was a difficult battle alot of glue-shed and plastic lost many men lost their bases that day. Haha no in the first few turns I had lost my forward positions on the table and was forced back. I did manage to hold out in an embankment on the opposite side of the river to them with a good few men left but only a hand full of guardians which had retreated over the river earlier. we started this match at 8pm I was still alive at 11:30pm which we then called it a night and planed to carry on today! I have successfully converted none Wargamers into Warhammer fanatics!!! I am very proud of myself and I have had a great time battling too.
