Let’s face it, we need a new logo.
So we’re holding a contest!
Watch this video for some details, then please read ALL of this post if you plan on entering:
HOW TO ENTER:
To enter you must design a logo for MiniWarGaming and submit it to miniwargaming@gmail.com before midnight EDT, June 30, 2008 (that’s at the end of June 30, not the beginning).
Here are the REQUIREMENTS for the logo:
1. You must send it to us in JPG format in high resolution, 800×600 pixels minimum size. This does not mean we want a huge banner, we are just looking for the logo to be in high resolution.
For examples of logos, check out some portfolios here and here.
2. NO COPYRIGHT MATERIAL CAN BE INCLUDED IN THE LOGO. That includes trademarked words (such as Warhammer, 40K, Games Workshop, Lord of the Rings) or pictures (including pictures of Games Workshop miniatures).
The logo must be 100% your own work.
3. The logo must contain either the word “MiniWarGaming” (all one word) or “MiniWarGaming.com”, your choice.
4. You can submit as many entries as you like. The more you submit, the higher the chance that you will win.
5. By submitting the logo you are handing over ALL rights to the work, which means you will not be able to use it for anything else without our permission.

FINAL NOTE:
We reserve the right to not choose a winner if we don’t see any logos that we would want to use.

Tad confused here. Can you use images of Games Workshop things if it isnt a miniature like a drawn picture of a Goblin for example?

Does that mean we cannot draw a picture of a character or miniature but not have the words for that character?
To answer your question Seth. No. You are not able to make or copy any trademark character, image or miniature.

But would I be able to use some space marines & tyraids/ dwarves & goblins/ Men of Gondor & orcs in my pics?

Little question - when you say copywriht material does this include fonts that arnt stock on a basic computer?

oké another question: i’ve made one in “paint” and saved it like jpg but i don’t know the size of it, but i think it is tall enough
