This is looking to be a close win. But you forgot to say what the mission was? But since it seems that your killing eachother left andright I’m guessing your doing an anilihate

Tyranids won, no questions asked, the only thing mike had going for him in the end was his “god”

Nice, I don“t play Warhammer 40K, but I love when big swarws just go onto the battlefield and kill everything.
The Monolith is AV14 all around and ignores any bonus to Armor Penetration from attacks due to ‘Living Metal’ special rules… how is it possible for Genestealers to penetrate & explode a Monolith?
The rending does NOT confer its additional d6 penetration vs. Living metal…. ooops guys!
To be fair, I’ve only played 3 games to date with the Monolith, and that was the first game fielding the Nightbringer - I’m still getting a grasp on the Special Rules for both of these units, so mistakes are bound to be made. Unfortunately for me, this was a pretty big mistake in Matt’s favour

I would like to meet the necron player and give him some ideas one thing that i notised is the lord had a war cyth against the nids a staff of light is better because its a power wepon and its an assalt three there were not enough destroyers and I did not see any imortals. If you let the nids get into close combat your done. The only army that I would go toe to toe with the nids is the korne.
The Necron Lord has a Staff of Light, not a Warscythe, at least as far as Gameplay is concerned - unfortunately all the current Necron Lord models seem to -come- with a Warscythe.
The lack of Immortals is solely because my army is still young, and occasionally paying the Mortgage becomes more important than buying more stuff
PS - Part 2 is up on YouTube

that looked like a fun game,
i think that necrons are a bit unfare the standard necron being only 2 points more points then the standard space marian and their statistics are nearly the same apart from initiative, but the necrons have the we’ll be back rule. and the monolith is nearly impossible to kill.
i know a guy who plays as necrons and has been playing with the for 2 years and has not lost one game.and its not that hes an amazing player hes not tactical at all its just that he always gets the we’ll be back save

That was truly an awesome battle, massive endless swarm. Having said that though if I was playing said battle I would have bought at least two Monoliths and a squad of Heavy Destroyers, thus countering the only thing in the entire Tyranid arsenal available capable of killing the Monolith. Beyond that its a matter of running them through.

Yeah we realized that afterwards - it would have made quite a different game if we had played it that way!
